Fire User "technology"

These are the basic abilities of the Fire Users currently: Flame Daggers, Fire Dogs, Flame Throwers, fireballs, Fire Wood, Flame Weed, Moast cloth, Treathe cloth, and Flame Wreathe

Here is the progression of that:

The Progression of Known Abilities of the Fire Users
Year 0 (Creation) – Fire Users are born with the Fire Blood*, which has the essence of fire. They can call flame to their hands, especially when it comes from a natural fire.
Year 2 – Hinley, a Purebred Fire User, learns to compact flames in with his hands to form a short-lived orb of fire. It disperses after twenty seconds, usually.
Year 3 – Kolil the 1st coats his hands in fire and develops a technique which raises or lowers the light intensity, and to some degree the heat of the flame.
Year 6 – Hinley perfects his early fireball, which now burns with no fuel for over ten minutes.
Year 9 – Kolil the 1st and Hinley combine their talents to make a multi-purpose fireball, which is sustained by the holder’s Fire Blood and made more powerful than just being used for cooking fires and lighting.
Year 15 – Jokil experiments with the Kolil-Hinley fireball and reshapes it, making it tapered and oblong like the Regular’s knives. It is only four inches long.
Year 19 – Hinely weaves fire into his cloak, and it becomes a Moast Cloak, impervious to natural fire. Regulars and non-Fire Users buy them in droves.
Year 20 – Jokil uses some Moast cloth as a handle for his Fire Dagger, which allows it to extend to nearly a foot at best before dispersing. Kolil visits him and they discover that by adding a pinch of Fire Snuff, an herb, that the blade is made thicker and hotter.
Year 22 – Moast cloth is used in many garments around Fire User territory, and Fire Snuff is found to penetrate it easily in minor disputes. Some Fire Users look for an alternative.
Year 23 – Flame Wood if found to hold a flame without burning. Hinley uses it as a core to his fireball, which makes it last for days on end. The Wooden Fireballs are used in more major disputes.
Year 37 – The three Fire Scientists work together on what will become their greatest achievement. They develop the Fire Wreathe. Improved Moast cloth, impregnated with Fire Wood and renamed Treathe cloth, is sewn into clothing for the entire body. The Fire User then can burst into intense flame and become a living torch, not burning. Hinley, the oldest, dies in early experimentation, and is regarded as a martyr.
Year 42 – Hinley names his son Jokil the 2nd (born Year 39) in honor of his late friend. He soon discovers that his son has unusual powers, and that he can make fireballs larger and Fire Dagger longer, just by touching them. When he looks into his son’s crib he discovers a nest of Fire Mites, which have been feeding on his son’s dead skin cells. He puts some in his own bed and discovers that his Fire Blood runs hotter and stronger.
Year 44 – Fire Mites fed with Fire Snuff are even more potent, Kolil discovers.
Year 50 – Jokil the 2nd gets lost in the wilderness and finds a strange herb, which he names Flame Weed. It causes fires to temporarily burn at double the intensity, of both brightness and heat. He feeds it to some Fire Mites, and they begin to mutate. Only three out of a hundred survive the process, but the ones that survive become the size of dogs and can endure all fire currently possible. He keeps one as a pet.
Year 52 – Jokil’s pet is the only one of the Fire Dogs that survives two years. He has named it Kloril, and, since it had grown to the size of a small horse, he trained it to be ridden.
Year 53 – Jokil returns from the wilderness, guided and protected by his extremely loyal pet, carrying a large supply of Flame Weed, which he gives to his father.
Year 56 – Tilyut, the sister of Kolil, starts to gather flames in her hands and throwing them at things.
Year 58 – Hinley and Kolil begin to breed Fire Dogs.
Year 63 – Tilyut’s flame throwing begins to look as if she is shooting three inch blades out of her wrists.
Year 65 – There are now over a hundred Fire Dogs, mostly as pets.
Year 72 – Tilyut’s Flame Throwers are now daggers up to eight inches long.
